Church of England School

Bickerton Holy Trinity CE Primary school has Church of England Controlled Status. This means the school functions within the partnership of the Church and the Local Education Authority, with its Christian ethos being central to the school.

As a Church of England school, emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the beliefs and practices of Christianity in particular, as well as other world religions. All pupils are encouraged to respect the beliefs and values of others and to express their own opinions in a thoughtful and reflective way.

In all church schools the law (1944 Education Act and later Acts) says that the worship should be in accordance with the Trust Deed. To all intents and purposes this will mean that the worship should be distinctively Christian and in accordance with the practices of the Church of England.

Daily collective worship is an important part of  school life at Bickerton Holy Trinity. We see it as an opportunity for pupils to explore and develop their world view, and explore how our school vision can be lived out in the world. The children are encouraged to take an active role in collective worship and our worship leaders help to plan and lead worship.
