Kestrels (Year 6) 2025 - 2026
Mr Carlile
Deputy Head teacher and SENDCo
Welcome to Kestrels
Kestrel class is made up of 19 kind and caring individuals who shape our wonderful year 6 team. As a team, we encourage each other to be the best we can be, to embrace new opportunities and to be respectful and responsible global citizens. We do this through living out our Christian values: love & kindess, respect, friendship, equality, freedom & responsibility and justice.
Homework
Children have many opportunities to practice and expand their learning at home. Each week children will be expected to complete:
- Practise their times tables up to and including their 12’s
- Daily spelling practice (see Statutory word lists and termly spelling menus below)
- Times Table Rockstars will help with any homework related to maths Times Tables Rock Stars: Play
- To foster a love of reading, we encourage all pupils to take part in Strive-for-5, aiming to read at least five times a week at home. This regular reading habit strengthens fluency, comprehension, and enjoyment.
